Academy’s

There’s a new gathering place in town for Penangites, the Gasoline Penang branch!  Long before we visited the latest outlet operating in Penang island, we have heard lots of stories about this special comic-themed cafe, which were visited by teenagers around Kuala Lumpur.  We were told that, it’s fun to be there hangging out with friends, sharing the latest news and filling the stomach too. Well since there’s an official website with all the stories behind the company, you can check them out by clicking this.

Having engaged by the management for capture the Penang branch’s photographically. We were thrilled and were anticipating the shooting date since then.  Gasoline choosed to has its outlet in Times Square, Penang.  Chances are, you may have noticed their catchy signboard when you travel along Dato Keramat Road having no idea what’s the shop about.

Gasoline Penang Times Square

While the brand name sounds more like “Gas Online” to us, it’s certainly not another cyber-cafe like the one in your neighborhood.  There was a lot of rain forest themed “animals” hangged around the lower floor of the cafe alongside with a few in-cave dining area.

Going up to second level revealed additional two dining areas, namely the bright & dark room.  So what is the bright and dark room anyway?

Gasoline Penang Times Square bright room

The bright room has a few Japanese-tatami-mat seatings seperated with customized curtain, illuminated by warm tungsten bulb!  So, what’s next?

Gasoline Penang Times Square dark room

The dark room is having the same seats arrangement but is mainly illuminated by UV bulbs that introduced the blue tint in the photo and a few tiny tungsten bulb to make sure you are still able to move around.  White colored cloth work best in this room, as they will glow nicely under UV lights!

There are plenty of oriental & western food options at affordable rates and served in big portion!

If you are going for a sip, there are plenty of funky-named beverages available too!

Spring is near.

She is one of the member of Heng Ee Photography Club Member!

Very potential to be a future model, she also happens to be one of the member from Heng Ee’s Photography Club.

Gypsy theme, with some nicely crafted treasure boxes.

A touch of nature, playing with the bird? Wait, its no bird inside the cage, its a BULB!

Have something to say? Do that in the comment section. :D

We were invited to lead an exciting holiday photography camp, organized by SMJK(C) Heng Ee Photography Club on 25th of May 2008.  The camp run from early morning 8.30am to 4.30pm late in the afternoon including photography talks, feasting time & a session of models shooting!

The event was hosted in one of the hottest school in Penang nowaday, SMJK(C) Heng Ee itself!  A total of 120 students participated from various high school within the island.

The camp kick started with Max Lim’s talk on ‘History of Photography’, introduced the participants on how human discovered photography and so on.

Followed by Albert’s presentation of photos slide-show, a brief introduction to capturing, editing and sharing digital photography.

We then went for a quick lunch at canteen before the 3rd talk by chief photographer of Kwong Wah Press.  Mr Chow kindly shared  hes  experiences and ‘exciting’ photographs from hes work.

After all the boring talks, we finally go live into the main event of the day;  The fun models shooting!

4 models were arranged, non other than the school own students, who were dressed with a few themes and some decoration were prepared as background.
