An exciting assignment to Philippine’s SunXi resort!

Filed Under (Commercial Photography, For Photographers, General, Other) by Max Lim on 03-06-2008

We were hired to shoot in Philippine for a holiday resort during February.  We went to a few places including Cebu, Manila & Clark Field.  The environment there are more or less the same as Malaysia.

Our client is an international banker, who happens to married a Filipino wife and they built a mansion on top the hill in Cebu, one of the largest island in the Philippine.  It takes about 4hours to travel from Cebu airport to the resort via the resort only shutter service, a Kia 4WD truck.

We were also invited to trek into the local ‘padi’ field.  Thank to the muddy ground, our shoe were all wet and soaked.  Here you can experience the farmer’s life.

The local children were very excited when we visited!  They hardly see any outsiders, especially chinese.

The local cab, its basically a bike, with oversize cabin.  You often can see them overloaded with 12-15 people per cab, serious.  For some reason, they also happened to installed the loudest speakers I ever heard in Philippine.

We also experienced one of the most beautiful sunset there by the beach; reddish sky with crystal clear water!

We were also invited to shoot for the resort’s yacht, parked at a yacht club near Manila.  Wonderful weather during the shoot, really blue sky!

We went for a week for the assignment, and we had great fun!  If you are interested on the resort, feel free to visit their official website here.

Success! An exciting photography camp for the students!

Filed Under (Academy, For Photographers, General) by Albert Yap on 01-06-2008

We were invited to lead an exciting holiday photography camp, organized by SMJK(C) Heng Ee Photography Club on 25th of May 2008.  The camp run from early morning 8.30am to 4.30pm late in the afternoon including photography talks, feasting time & a session of models shooting!

The event was hosted in one of the hottest school in Penang nowaday, SMJK(C) Heng Ee itself!  A total of 120 students participated from various high school within the island.

The camp kick started with Max Lim’s talk on ‘History of Photography’, introduced the participants on how human discovered photography and so on.

Followed by Albert’s presentation of photos slide-show, a brief introduction to capturing, editing and sharing digital photography.

We then went for a quick lunch at canteen before the 3rd talk by chief photographer of Kwong Wah Press.  Mr Chow kindly shared  hes  experiences and ‘exciting’ photographs from hes work.

After all the boring talks, we finally go live into the main event of the day;  The fun models shooting!

4 models were arranged, non other than the school own students, who were dressed with a few themes and some decoration were prepared as background.
